Last June a new Telecom Law was passed in the Netherlands, as a consequence of which every website is required to inform its users about 'cookies' and request permission for their use. Most of you will be familiar with this from the many banners, footers and other media communications websites use to bring this to your attention. Unfortunately, however, this is not enough legally speaking. TU Delft also makes use of different cookies (Tracking cookies for user statistics and sharing cookies for social media integration), which means that as of 1 January 2013 all TU Delft websites will have to actively request permission from visitors to be able to use cookies.
